All ev and hybrid delivery trucks will soon be branded with the FedEx EarthSmart logo to signify the company’s efforts to reduce fleet environmental impacts. FedEx has set a goal of improving the fuel economy of its road fleet by 20 percent by 2020, in addition to also cutting its air-related greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent by 2020. By 2020, FedEx wants biofuels to account for 30 percent of its jet fuel use.

In addition to natural gas and hybrid electric trucks... Fed Ex is trying true battery power. I think its a little early but one day....



FedEx announced the addition of a test run of four electric delivery vans to their US fleet. They’ve commissioned the vehicles to be built from the ground up and they’re slating them to start their shifts this coming June. Two of the vehicles were unveiled this week. Designed by the UK company Modec, distributed in the US by Navistar and hailed by the New York Times as “the cutest electric vehicles” they’ve seen, the vans can run up to 100 miles on an overnight charge.
