Toyota has built an entire bus that runs on fuel cells. Called the Intelligent Multimode Transit System (it's a hybrid), these buses of the future are on the road. Fuel Cells are indeed on the long term transportation horizon, but the infrastructure and fuel cell reliability are still in question.
